Jan 02, 2007 · Thanks, Steve. The aquastat is a break on temp rise. It is a safety device that prevents the boiler from getting too hot. If you jump it out, it could cause the boiler to make steam and blow off the relief valve. If you were in the way of the relief valve outlet, it could cause 2nd degree burns.
